Top 5 things to do in London (Part 1)
1. Red Double Decker bus tour
The London bus tour deserves a stand alone blog post as it is filled with so much history and sights. It will literally take a day or even two to see all the stops of the tour. I did the Original London hop-on-hop-off tour which allows you to travel the city and see many of its palaces, significant places and tourist hot spots in a chill and easy ride.
What I liked most about this tour is that the tour guide that I had was really funny and kept us entertained the entire time. However, this isn't the only tour offered, there are several bus tour companies that you can take depending on your personal preferences. The Original London hop-on-hop-off tour was founded over 65 years ago is now the largest and most popular open-top sightseeing red bus tour operators in the world!
First you purchase your ticket! I purchased mine online months in advance. You present your ticket upon hopping and the fun begins. Here are just a few of my favorite sights from the tour.
We've all seen the hype revolving around the recent royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. As we pull up to the palace you'll first notice the eye catching gold statue which is the Victoria Memorial statue. Queen Victoria was the longest reigning British monarch until her great-great-granddaughter Queen Elizabeth surpassed her reign on Sept 9, 2015. Behind the statue is Buckingham palace.
We saw lots of buildings with great architecture.
The Official London Eye is a gigantic Ferris wheel. It stands 135 meters tall and is 120 meters in diameter. It is located on the South Bank of the River Thames in London.
The Palace of Westminster is the meeting place of the House of Commons (lower house of the Parliament) and the House of Lords (upper house of the Parliament), the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
Channel 4 News is the main news program on British television broadcaster Channel 4.
