The process is pretty simple, quick and will leave you with a body butter you can proud of as hydrated and healthier skin that you will love. What I like most about this DIY is that you can modify the body butter and its ingredients to what suits you and your skin needs best. See our top five benefits of this all natural body butter and the seven super easy steps we used to make it below!

Top 5 benefits-

of the DIY 'whipped orange lemongrass scented body butter'

1. All Contents are RAW/100% Pure

All ingredients are pure and 100% natural, providing your skin with the highest potency of nutrients. What I really enjoy about this body butter is that I am aware of each and every ingredient that goes into it and I know that they are all healthy and safe and will provide maximum nutrients to my skin.

2. Promotes Skin Collagen Production

Promotes healthy skin collagen and helps prevent premature and aging of the skin. Collagen is found in muscles, bones, skin and blood vessels within our bodies and helps our skins ability to replace dead skin cells as well as our skins elasticity and strength.

3. Refreshes Appearance of Skin

Encourages moisturized skin, reduces the appearance of blemishes and acne scarring. The combination of these healthy and nutritious ingredients all have so many skin rectifying and health promoting components to better your skin.

3. Hydrates Skin Optimally

Hydrates and penetrates the skin to optimal capacity in colder and winter months better than high water content lotions

4. Therapeutic Contributes

Therapeutic attributes because of the essential oils infused as well as the fluffy and dense consistency allows for massaging and stress-relief qualities.

Ingredients: 100% Pure orange essential oil, 100% Pure lemongrass essential oil, organic virgin coconut oil, 100% natural jojoba oil,RAW African shea butter, natural pure mango butter

Ingredients/ Recipe:

This recipe will produce enough whipped body butter to fill a 20 Oz. container.

-RAW African Shea Butter (1/2 Cup)

-Natural Pure Mango Butter (1/2 Cup)

-Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (1/2 Cup)

-100% Natural Jojoba Oil ( 1 Oz.)

-100% Pure Orange Essential Oil ( 5 Drops)

-100% Pure Lemongrass Essential Oil (5 Drops)

Other Materials:

-Double Broiler or Microwave

-Hand Mixer

-Microwave Safe Bowl

-Glass or Plastic Seal-able Container

Step One:

Add your solid butters and oils into a microwave safe bowl. ( These will include Shea Butter, Mango Butter and Coconut Oil - DO NOT add the Jojoba Oil during this step.)

Step Two:

Place your bowl/ingredients from step one into a microwave or place the ingredients in a double boiler. I do not have a double boiler so I did use a microwave for this step. You will need to place the bowl/ingredients in the microwave for about 1.5 minutes depending on the settings of your microwave. Your goal is simply to melt the ingredients together. You do not want to cook or bring contents to a boil. It is possible that you made need less microwave time than 1.5 minutes so please be vigilant during this step.

Step Three:

Once all your ingredients have melted. Stir contents together will still in the bowl. Now you will add the Jojoba Oil and stir together. Ensuring that all contents and ingredients are thoroughly combined together.

Step Four:

Add 5 drops of the orange essential oil to the mixture. Add 5 drops of the lemongrass essential oil to the mixture. Stir mixture to infuse essential oils. I added only a total of 10 drops combined, however, you may add more or less depending on your preferred degree of scent of your body butter. (You may also modify by using a variety of scented essential oils instead of orange and lemongrass.)

Step Five:

Place bowl/mixture in the refrigerator or freezer to chill for 15 to 20 minutes. I put my mixture in the freezer. Your desired outcome is as shown, mixture should solidify and should not be runny. It should be the consistency of a stick of butter or slightly more solid. You Do Not want to let your mixture freeze for hours or over night. You Do Not want your mixture to freeze solid. Once mixture chills for 15 to 20 mins, remove from freezer.

Step Six:

Using a hand mixer begin to mix the mixture. Mixing for about 15 minutes. As you mix you will notice the texture and color of the mixture begin to change. The yellow color you see will transform into a white color. And the texture will transform from this buttery consistency above to a creamy and smooth consistency. But keep mixing until you achieve the fluffy whipped consistency that will make your body butter feel soothing and amazing.

Step Seven:

After you are done mixing, the body butter is ready for use. I like to refrigerate for an hour or over night to let the whipped body butter fully formulate. Once you have refrigerated your body butter remove from refrigerator. Let reach room temperature and use away! Get ready for rejuvenated and hydrated skin.
